Crêperie ‘arrêt’ café – Architectural Design & Business Space Design

On Delphon Street, right next to the new metro station, the space for the new crêperie café called arrêt was designed and implemented – a modern gastronomic station in the everyday life of the city.

The word arrêt, which means ‘stop’ in French, was the starting point for the design approach: a point of brief pause, whether for a coffee in hand or a relaxed moment of enjoyment in the space. The challenge was to create a store that catered to both the speed of take-away and the need for a seated, inviting environment.

The design moved towards an industrial aesthetic, with strong materials and prominent textures: metal, wood, concrete and dark tones set the tone. But this “severity” is calmly counterbalanced by the blue ceiling – an element that was not hidden, but instead highlighted, giving depth and a cool breath to the space.

The layout allows for customer flow: from the entrance to the cashier and barista station, and then either to the seating area or to the exit. Ergonomic structures, seating and shelving were incorporated so that the space can be served directly without losing its character.

The lighting was designed to enhance the textures of the materials and create small ‘islands’ of atmosphere, particularly in the evening hours. The end result is a space that is modern, functional and
